Wizway Solutions was born out of the desire of four major players in the French market to broaden the use of contactless systems in everyday life. RATP, SNCF, Thales and Orange formed Wizway in December 2015 as a joint venture to develop contactless travel, with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Digital Services and the Ministry of Transport.
Wizway Solutions is the World’s first industrial consortium dedicated to contactless travel, combining the expertise of each of the four partners to offer a simple and modern mobile ticketing solution to transport operators and carriers.

Wizway Solutions has a team with a broad range of expertise in marketing and technology in the realms of both transport and mobile telephony. Our staff benefit from extensive professional experience from the perspectives of both mobile operators and transport operators and service creators and providers.
We are fully conversant with the Calypso ticketing standard, Triangle and Global Platform, as well mastering Java Card, ISO 7816 and14443, Intercode and radio frequency technology including NFC.
We also actively participate in such bodies as Ulysse, Pegasus, Cityzi, the NFC Forum, Calypso Network Association (CNA), the Association Française du Sans Contact Mobile (AFSCM), the SMS-C forum, lADCET and the GSM Association (GSMA).
One of Wizway Solution’s unique features is to offer a shared infrastructure and therefore a one-stop service for Transport Operators and carriers whatever their requirements or the ticketing standards that they use.
Our technical solution was designed from the outset to be able to add new partners, integrate new types of ticket and be used with all platforms (smartphones, smartwatches…) and technologies (Secure element and HCE). All of the technology used conforms to international standards and makes our solution interoperable with all the players in the value chain both in France and Internationally.
Wizway Solutions bring together in one place all the technical components needed for virtual ticketing to make it NFC operable.
Since its implementation in 2018 on major transport networks (Strasbourg, Paris Ile-de-France, Lille, SNCF), the use of smartphones to buy and validate tickets using contactless technology (NFC mobile) has been steadily increasing. Despite a decline in public transport use after the end of the lockdown, more and more travelers are opting for this very simple ticketing solution, which makes an effective contribution to barrier gestures.
